Future Development of the UKSGB

The UKSGB Implementation Steering Group is responsible for the UKSGB and the way it develops in the future. It is currently operating as a working group within the National Geographic Data Framework (NGDF).

The steering group comprises representatives from:

• Office for National Statistics (who also chair the group)
• Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions
• Royal Mail
• Ordnance Survey (Great Britain)
• Ordnance Survey (Northern Ireland)
• General Register Office for Scotland
• Welsh Office
• Local Government Management Board

The group has now successfully delivered Phase 1 of the UKSGB project with the launch of the askGIraffe Data Integrator at AGI 2000. Furture developments for the Data Integrator service will look to expand the services that are offered and develop new ways of helping organisations to make informed decisions about how they use the UKSGB
